Customer photo review of Beatello 14"×8" Heavy Professional Snare Drum, Multi-Ply Birch Linden Hybrid Shell, 10 Stable Lugs for Pro Drummers

Love the sound in its lower register of tuning! Assembly quality and overall quality needs work. L I (and my band members) love the sound of this drum in its lower register of tuning. Great for our classic rock vibe. However, I'm disappointed in the quality of assembly of the drum. I removed the batter head to find almost every single screw inside the drum was barely finger tight, so I tightened them all. Then I replaced the batter head (which i really like) and tuned the drum into its lower register. Great sound! After just 2 practice sessions I was disappointed again to find that the lower snare resonate head failed by the skin pulling out of the drum head rim edge. After dis- assembly I discovered the lower bearing rim edge has multiple dents and imperfections that may have contributed to the failure. It looks like it had been slammed around on the workbench as it was being assembled. Even at the low price of this drum I would expect higher quality control from Beatello. I still give it good ratings for sound after the work I did on it. But I'm not sure if I can improve the condition of the lower bearing edge. That edge must be smooth and finished properly or it will pop heads from the stress and pressure of tuning and playing. I wish I could talk you guys out of another snare side head of 14"...and maybe a full replacement drum regarding the condition of the lower bearing edge. I'm a working local drummer and have been playing for some 40+ years on many major set brands and configurations.
